When you buy the actual wii console it will come with 1 controller and 1 nun-chuck (an add on controller needed for some games). The wii comes with the wii sports game already. The only things extra you would need is extra controllers (up to 4) and nun-chucks (its good to have 4 but we have 2 and have gotten by just fine in almost 3 years). Wii Fit is just another game. It costs around $90 and will come with board (which can be used for other games not just wii fit). The other attachments we have is we keep 2 wheel attachments because our children enjoy playing racing games with them, 2 classic controllers as both the kids/husband like using them on some games like super smash brothers and you need them if you download any older games online, and we have 2 motion plus attachments for the wii sports resort (you have to have this attachment to play the game and it comes with 1 and others are $20 but you can also share controllers so for 4 of us we find that 2 works just fine). There are plenty of other attachments out there like for sword fighting, base ball, tennis etc... but they are not needed and in our experience the little kids are the ones that like them the best.

Open the back of your Wii remote (where the batteries are). There should be a red button that says Sync next to it. Press that, then press the Sync button on the Wii console, which is right above the Eject button (you need to open the lid), also red. Press them at about the same time and the remotes should sync with the console.

The only way I know how to connect an extra remote is:
step 1: Go to the Mii Channel
step 2: Press transfer
step 3: Press 1 and 2 repeatitly
step 4: Go back to the wii menu and play :)

For a permanent sync, boot up wii, hold down the red sync button on the front over the sd slot. for a quicker sync, go wii menu, wii remote settings, reconnect. Press 1&2 simultaneously and wait. Go to nintendo.com if this doesn't work.

There is two ways to do this one way is called temporarly sync and you do this by clicking the home button on ur wiimote then click wii remote settings then click reconnect then on each wiimote u want to add press and hold the one and two buttons on each wiimote until they connect and the wiimotes usaully make sound when they connect
The second way and u usually do when you purchase an extra wiimote is you sync the wiimote and you do this by clicking the red sync button above the sd card slot then on the wiimote that needs to be synced take off the battery cover and click and hold the little red button for a couple of seconds or until the wiimote connects
Now since it is ur friends wiimote on ur wii use the temp. sync method but if u turn off the wii console u will have to temp. sync ur friends wiimote again
