A Freeloader lets you play Wii games from other regions that aren't your own (good for games that will never come out in your region):
NTSC (north america)
PAL (europe)
NTSC-J (japan)
The latest firmware as of January 4th 2009 is the 3.4 update on the wii that was made to PREVENT the Freeloader from working.
Why? Licensing issues and piracy is my guess.
The Wii firmware version you need to use the Freeloader is 3.2 or lower. There is no way to downgrade your Wii version, but if you ever want to use any type of homebrew or region unlocking software, stop receiving updates from WiiConnect24 on your settings and that'll stop Nintendo from trying to hackproof your system.
I already have 3.4 on my Wii so I cannot use Freeloader; I pray that a new one comes out this year and I won't make the same mistake again by receiving updates via WiiConnect24.

Nintendo hates whilst people can play video games they like that hasn't or wont be released of their section. Nintendo is an evil **** enterprise ;) besides, you ought to use region frii and such besides the incontrovertible fact that it wont artwork besides as freeloader did. I wont replace in the previous they launch a sparkling freeloader like minded with the recent firmware :)
