This question may be a bit stupid but Does just one human being out there know when the release date is?

Nintendo has stated several times that they have NO plans for a "Wii HD" at ANY time. They don't intend to re-release the console with minor adjustments like graphics performance; they plan to hold their next release until they've developed something that's as big a step up from the Wii as that console was from the Game Cube. Simply adding HD or other minor features is extraordinarily unlikely to happen at any time.

Heh heh heh. I just saw a question asking why people think there is actually going to be a wii 2.

Remember when the wii was a big hit and it was the fastest selling console ever? Well, the wii was a big jump from the gamecube and nintendo didn't take it in steps by releasing more consoles and adding more stuff (remind you of the dsi, then dsi ll then dsi xl). What nintendo said was that they had no plans for an hd wii but another console that was as big of a jump from the wii as was the gamecube to the wii. So my guess is, they will talk about it at the earliest next year's E3. I mean, the ps2 lasted for 10 years so people should be able to wait for another wii. This wii (or future nintendo console) should have better graphics and better sensitivity like a wii motion plus built in.

Nintendo isn't doing so well right now so sony and microsoft are using this chance to get ahead (With the natal and the playstation move) so the next nintendo console is going to have to take even another step ahead of that. Who knows what they'll do. The wii was a huge surprise with its motion sensing. So it's impossible to think of what nintendo's next move might be.

The Wii HD is scheduled for release some time in 2011 although Nintendo have not yet officially announced it's release date.
