wii wont read disk out of box?

I just got home with my brand new wii, popped in the wii sports disk that it came with and it already wont read the disk. Ive had two room mates with wiis that had disk reading problems as well but not right out of the box. Is this a known issue?

yes it's a known issue. your wii should have a warranty, so you can just send it back for a new one.

Well, I have a Wii and I've never had that issue, so you might need to call Nintendo support. But check the obvious first (if you're putting in the disc the wrong way). Also, if the disc-reading lens on the Wii's inside is unclean, it won't read discs, so you'd need a disc cleaner to insert into the disc slot to fix that.

try to see if maybe you put the disk in the wrong way, its not un common i do it alot, if not try calling nintendo.
