What format do i put my SD card to be able for my Wii to read it?

i have a normal 1gb sd card and it wont read in my wii so i got on here and looked for what to format it to if needed and turns out a lot of people said fat , fat16,or fat32 so i dont know wich one to do cause they said do it in fat16 not 32 and others said fat 32 not 16 can someone help mee please i want to get the custom packs for mkw and i know how to do the rest it just wont read my card! grrr and by the way the wii is version 4.3E

FAT32 is the format your SD Cards should be.

While FAT32 is recommended, FAT16 (usually just called FAT) can also be used. I use FAT16-formatted SD cards with my Wii just fine.
