Wii Sports Golf, Tiger Woods, and Super Swing Golf (Pangya) all use the Wiimote for swing motions, but all do so in different ways, each with different drawbacks. I'll skip the Wii Sports Golf description here.
Tiger Woods: The power of your swing determines the power of the in-game shot, with the ability to get a 10% boost on distance if you swing hard enough. Any twists in your motion will result in accurate hook or slice. The downside is that getting the correct strength on putting is nearly impossible, and sometimes it will mistake a small hitch in your backswing as the end of your backswing, and the rest of your backswing then becomes the foreswing, resulting in a tiny shot (like 30 yards with a driver).
Super Swing Golf: It has very similar hook and slice swing mechanics to Tiger. However, power is determined by how much of a backswing you've taken when you hit the A button, as indicated by an onscreen meter. It can penalize you up to 20% on your power if you swing too slow, but you have to swing extremely slow to get any penalty at all. Also, there's a lot more variety in clothing options. The downside here is that, since the meter on screen doesn't necessarily keep up with the speed of your swing (based on your character's Control stat, it moves slower), you'll have to get into a habit of pausing at the top of your backswing, which feels very unnatural to real golfers. Also, the courses are more like oversized miniature golf courses than any real golf course.
Overall, I feel Super Swing is the more polished and complete game.
