Alright, I got assured that my Wii won't blow up if left on for more than 8 hours. However, I DID expect it to go faster than it is now. Currently, to connect to the internet, the last step is the "update" part. About 9/10th of it went by pretty fast, but the last part is NOT CHANGING. The whole update thing was started at 4:30 PM today. It is around 8:10 now. for about four and a half hours, it got NOTHING accomplished. If it did... then I couldn't tell b/c it was so tiny!!1!
I know a TINY bit about the interferences, like wireless things and cellphones and such. I unplugged the cordless phone. (This is my basement, where there is a storage and in there has a box like thing that has SO MANY things connected to it...)
I don't know what to do! Do I just wait it out??? And hope that it somehow finishes tomorrow morning? GAH!
Oh, and does it damage the Wii if it turns off in the middle of the updating? Our neighborhood has been getting sudden power - outages lately... HEEELP!!!

this is NOT a modem problem

This is the first time NES went online and it doesn't know what its doing

I have a very fast connection and its still very very slow

The Wii doesn't even have any games that are online, it just keeps coming out with updates for no reason

IT doesn't hurt the wii if you stop in the middle of a download, when you start it up again it'll start off where you left off from

This is a modem problem. Check your Wireless Modem in your house to make sure that it's on so that The Wii can get a full signal. Don't be scared about it freezing the update. The Wii's fine! Wiiconnect24 is on, right? Go to the Wii options and make sure it's on and make sure that the Wii has a good signal. Test it. No worries, my friend!

My updates have always taken less than 5 minutes. It might be a problem with you modem or with your wireless router. The settings on your route should be 01 or 11. I always have my cellphone on plus my PS3 is currently running folding at home plus my computer internet is generally up and running. If this problem continues, you might want to contact Nintendo for system support.

It might just stop updating but I don't think it would be ruined unless It corrupts the file
