How are the nintendo wii's graphics?

Question

I was thinking of getting a wii and was wondering how good or bad the graphics are. Are they:
A: N64 graphics
B: Game cube graphics
C: PS2 graphics
D :xbox graphics
E: better than all of these

Tell me what you think. it would be a great help

Most techies call the Wii a souped up Gamecube and rate its graphical prowess at about the same level as a XBOX, maybe slightly better.



But as other responses have stated, it also depends on the game, some games voluntarily go with simpler-looking graphics and don't push the machine's graphical powers much.

It depends on the game. Example:

- if you download an N64 game off the VC it will appear as it did on that system.



Anyway, that said, the Wii has the potential to have games that look, better than all of the above (E). Some examples of this are Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy.



That said, many Wii games for the most part still look like top of the line PS2, GCN, or XBOX games. However, IMO that is certainly nothing to scoff at. NOTE: No the Wii will never have a game that is graphically equal to a PS3 or 360 game, but that by no means, makes the system have bad graphics. (IMO).



(also as a side note: GCN was more powerful than the PS2 and most GCN games featured better graphics than PS2)

As some other answerers said, it depends on the game too. Some games have great graphics, such as Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime 3, and Super Mario Galaxy. The Wii will never stand out like the PS3 and 360, but its still got graphics just like the Xbox (on some games).



On the Wii, you don't even care about the graphics that much, because you are having so much fun. The gameplay on the Wii is just outstanding.

It depends on the game not the system.most the Wii games are good its just most are port from PS2 and stuff.so some are lacking good graphics in the game,but if they can make games better then the games cut scenes thin people wouldnt talk bad about it but.. The very best games for wii are realy good,Metriod,Galaxy,zelda,re4,and the new one,MOH H2 strikers,and so on. But they spend more time on the controlers then the game graphics in most game thats one thing way its behind a little for a wale anyways. just wait and see it explode in the coming months if they dont slack.but it better then all.
