There are some things to consider here. I bought a US Wii and moved to China, so I'll let you know what I did and what I've encountered since I moved here.

1) The Wii power adapter is not universal so you'd need a power adapter in order to plug it into the wall. I actually bought a universal power adapter (110 - 240v) because I was too afraid to plug my Wii (or XBOX 360) into a wall power converter. Here's what I'm talking about (this isn't the site I got mine from, it's been 7 months so I don't remember the exact site, I'll update this answer later if I happen to find it) http://video-games.become.com/110-240v-ac-power-adapter-with-uk-plug-for-nintendo-wii--compare-prices--sc867752236

2) The games you buy in Europe WON'T work in your Wii, but you can MAKE them. I find European and Japanese versions of games all over the place over here and they are so cheap - I finally decided to soft-mod my Wii. I went to http://www.wiihacks.com/ and found some GREAT tutorials and there are many knowledgeable people who help out. I felt very comfortable modding my Wii (and i figured, even if i happen to screw my Wii up - I still had a 360 to play and I could always by another Wii in the future). Soft-modding the Wii to play other region games was super easy and it only took around 4 hours to get everything the way I wanted it. Now I can play games from any region and I even have the homebrew channel and have downloaded some decent FREE games.

I'm going to be living over here for a short while, so I figured it was worth the risk/trouble to bring the Wii with me and figure this all out as I went along. . . and I'm glad I brought it. The power cable I bought works perfectly and like i said before, I can play all the games I buy over here. I actually have more trouble wtith my 360 - i did the same thing and bought a new power cable instead of using a wall mounted power converter...but the 360 is much harder to hack (and I don't want to risk bricking it) so I'm confined to games I brought from America...also, XBOX live is blocked in China :(

I have found some stores thru Amazon.com that will ship video games internationally. I'm sure there are MANY MANY more that will ship to Europe than China - so even if you don't want to hack your Wii you can always buy games from a store based in the states and have them shipped to Europe. I like buying games from Amazon anyway because they are usually much cheaper. The same with gamestop.com - again, they are more likely to ship to Europe than they are China....

I'd say all you need to do is get a new power cable and you're set. You want one that says 110v - 240v & 50/60Hz on it. You can either buy games online like I mentioned, or hack your Wii like I did.

Hope this helps :)

To plug it into an electrical outlet, you'll need a voltage converter, so that's an easy solution. As for playing it on a UK TV, you're going to have some problems because American TVs uses NTSC while UK uses PAL, so the colors and pictures may not come out looking normal.

The games you buy in Europe will not work as the US version will only play NTSC games and Europe plays PAL version. You'd need a wall adapter to plug the actual machine in, but so long as you have NTSC version games it'll work.

No. You can get it working on a power converter but all the games there are PAL, so they won't work on an american box. You can still play your old ones though with your converter.
