Is there a way to dodge the blue shell on Mario Kart Wii?
?

I stay a pretty good distance ahead of everyone on, 50cc-100cc but on 150cc if I get hit with the blue shell its over I can't get back into first place. So if anyone knows a way to dodge the blue shell please let me know. I heard the only way is to have a speed mushroom and as the blue shell hits use the mushroom but I never have one when the shell hits me.

There are five ways to dodge a blue shell in Mario Kart Wii:

1) Use a star

2) Use a Mega Mushroom

3) Use a Bullet Bill

4) If you have a mushroom, the blue shell will hover over your head for about a second. When it swoops up, use the mushroom. The short burst of speed will enable you to dodge the blue shell.

5) When the blue shell is near you, you can enter a cannon which can help you dodge it (NOTE: This obviously only works on tracks like Rainbow Road, GCN DK Mountain etc.)

I think these are the only ways you can dodge a blue shell.

Hope this helps :)

It is almost impossible to avoid an incoming blue-shell but there are a few ways.

The blue shell's mechanics are that it will fly over you and drop. There is about a 1/4 second wait before it drops and within this target time you must speed boost in anyway. This means using a mushroom or going over a boost pad.

Easier way would be to use an invincibility star when one is approaching (if by any chance you happen to have one in first place)

Some tips on using the blue shell to help you when it is a close race is to stop near a crowd of racers behind you or get closer to the person behind you so that the impact of the explosion will hit and slow down many people.

You can also avoid blue shells when in cannon shots as well.

1. Use a mushroom when the blue shell "points" down to you. Note that if you are SLIGHTLY too early or SLIGHTLY too late you will get hit

2. Use a star (uncommon that you will have one, though)

3. Use a bullet bill

4. Use a Mega Mushroom.

5. Boost with the Golden shroom like there is no tommorow!

6. Use a banana. The banana method is by far the hardest of all, but it is possible, because I've done it (once)

7. Go threw a cannon

There are some ways... but they don't work all the time

-If a blue shell is coming, IMMEDIATLY hit the brakes, because if a group of racers come behind you, they'll get hit too, and it'll be easier to regain your position

-If you have a mushroom... once the blue shell is gonna hit the ground, hit the mushroom and you'll completely dodge it. (this take some practice though)

-And, when a blue shell is coming, go into a cannon (like the one in DK summit or Maple Tree way) and you'll also completely dodge it... (but, most likely you won't make it into the cannon, or it'll hit you once you come out of the cannon)

Hope i helped :)

there is one way but its not convient. the only was is when its coming and just about to land on you speed away with a mushroom. like i said, in 1st place your likely not to have a mushroom so its pretty much impossible to dodge. what i do is i try to stay just behind the 1st place guy and when the shell comes(it seems to always coem eventually) i just back up a little, let him take the hit, and speed away. try that if you want, it works for me.

As soon as it starts coming down on you, use a mushroom. But this means you need to save one for a while. It takes a while to get right, its all about timing.

If theres someone right behind you, you can cut them off at the last minute and it will hit them. But its hard to do. Bringing back some old good memories

The only way is to save up a star and use it if the dreaded shell is going towards you!
