Why does my wii game say The Game Disk could not be read. Refer to the Wii Operations Manual for details?

What's wrong with my game? I'm trying to play guitar hero and the game will load onto the wii and it will let me click start to get into the game but after the 1st opening credit thing it says that the game cannot be read? What do I do to keep playing my game? Also there are a few scratches to the disk but not enough to do any damage I would think...

Maybe the Wii needs cleaning or it could be because of the scratches.
