Hello everyone. I need help pretty urgently. im going away on a trip soon and had my wii hacked recently. i really want the loader to work properly.
Anyway my usb is never read by my wii. I have formatted it from FAT32 to WBFS as recommended on many sites but the usb is still not read. When i go to the homebrew channel, it registers that the usb is attached but when clicked takes me to an odd error message with a large number of different codes. if need be i will post a snippet of this error message. i have tried both usb ports as well. my usb is supported and compatible as seen on the compatibilty chart on wiihacks or some such website. It is a Sandisk cruiser micro 16GB. if anyone know how to remedy the situation i will best answer. thanks everyone.

The only way to find out the real problem is to swap and test...try using your external drive on somebody else's (working) hacked wii, if it works then that means your external drive is fine and most likely your wii wasn't hacked correctly, or you can try using somebody else's (working) external drive on your wii, if it works then that means your wii was hacked correctly and it's your external drive thats err...it's either or.

I think the info you were reading is outdated, WBFS partitions haven't been the favored method for a long time, not since loaders started supporting self contained WBFS files. Your apps folder that includes the loader and such has to be on a FAT32 drive, which if you don't have it on an SD card you wouldn't have if the USB drive is full WBFS. I would recommend switching the drive back to FAT32 and setting it up from there, with .wbfs files stored in the wbfs folder on the root of the drive.

First up... Update USB Loader GX to version 3.0...

Second, REFORMAT your USB HDD to FAT32 or NTSC -- WBFS has been depreciated due to improved support for the more standardized formats... If you format it to FAT32, you'll be able to run homebrew apps & access other files on your USB HDD.

Third, make sure you have cIOS's 236 & 249 installed... While cIOS 249 is the only one you need, cIOS 236 is the prerequisite for cIOS 249.

Fourth, make sure you have IOS 58 installed, either by running Wii Menu 4.3 OR through a separate download... you need the USB 2.0 support nowadays to properly access USB devices on the Wii.

Prayers for enlightenment in many cases do no longer come with the aid of. Prayers for money come with the aid of as quickly as a month or each and every 2 weeks. Prayers from suicide bombers for procuring the seventy two virgins, no person is conscious. Prayers to kill all infidels, hasn't come with the aid of yet, they are nevertheless over 5 Billion left. Prayers to thank for all the good God has carried out are the final, they do no longer choose coach. Prayers to shop a ill toddler from dying are stupid, because of the fact why did God make the harmless ill?
