Question:
How do I fix my Wii sensor bar so I get pointer functionality back?

My Wii has been working fine for many months, but now the pointer is stuffed. The buttons (like home, +, -,1, 2) still work and motion sensing works (i can play wii sports for eg). Its just the pointer (the little hand that is used for navigation) that wont work. the pointer will appear if i stand very close but it easily moves off the edges of the screen and disappears entirely when i move further away (where I normally stand and it normally works).

I know this is a problem with the sensor bar, but how to i fix it? i haven't changed anything, i know im not standing too far away, i dont think there is a problem with a light source... and the sensor bar is plugged in.

any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

Go to the sensitivity settings again.

Check what the Wii remote sees is really only two dots, and nothing else.

Make sure, there isn't another infrared light source nearby, that could confuse the remote like a candle or a bright lamp on the wall where your TV is.

When on the sensitivity settings, point the remote to your TV and move it around a bit, to check if the remote suddenly "sees" another infrared light source.

well u could always go but a new one for like 15 20 bucks. but when my sensor bar goes crazy like that i just lite 2 candle and put them on top of my tv, they actually seem to work better then the reg sensor bar. try that out until u can get a new one or get that one fixed

Other electronics interfere with the wiimote's signals. if you recently bought a somewhat "complicated" electronic that may emit infared signals, you might wanna move it somewhere else. other than that, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it...if you can readjust the sensitivity, that might help as well.
