Why can't I load the Wii Homebrew Browser?

I have v. 1.0.6 of the Homebrew Channel and v. 3.6 of the Browser. When I try to run the Browser from the Channel it says it is an invalid Wii application. I downloaded the Browser installer to an SD card and tried to install it. The first time the Wii froze and the blue disk led stayed on. The second try worked but the Browser crashed shortly after installation. Every attempt since has frozen the Wii. I have firmware update 4.2U

When did you last update your official firmware? 4.0 and above are all implemented to do exactly what you are describing. Nuke any home brew and render it inoperable. Try playing a legitimate copy of a game and hopefully you didn't brick your Wii all together. Silly software pirates.

Homebrew Browser isn't a pirate tool. And yea, 4.2 nukes homebrew. Here's a good site for a fix:
