I have looked in stores online and even ebay for wii accessories, even sensor bars. I hate that because of the cord, and how thin it is, the sensor bar keeps falling, so I have looked only for wireless, and i cam upon an IR sensor bar. I know what IR is and what it stands for, but in the case of the wii, what is the difference and why get a IR sensor bar instead of the original

First of all, make sure that all the sensor bars you are looking at say "wireless" because IR doesn't mean it is wireless. IR is the same as the original bar. IN FACT, the original bar is an IR bar. So don't think it is special just because it says IR. All the bars are IR. IR or infer red, is just the light that comes out of the sensor bar, and because it is IR light, you can't see it. The way it works is that five infer red light beams come out of each side of the bar. When the Wii remote sees the light (only the remote can see the light from a special camera on the remote) next to the t.v, it can tell how far it is from the t.v. or how far it moved. Then it send the information to the Wii. The wii then produces the image . The sensor bar really does nothing but shoot IR beams at the Wii remote. All the possessing happens in the remote its self. To prove this point a camera at the sensor bar next time it is on, you will see the bar is purple. Those are the IR light beams coming out of it.

IR stands for Infra-Red (for those who come upon this question and don't know). The Wii's sensor bar uses IR originally. The Wii remotes have cameras in the ends which pick up the IR emitted on either end of the Sensor Bar.

In short, there is no difference. The Wii's original sensor uses IR just as the self-proclaimed IR sensor does. You might want to check the specifics of your so-called IR sensor bar, and see what the different features are. I.E. if it's wireless, has an extended range, or just looks better.

i've got easily chanced on that as quickly as I place the sensor bar the region opposite to the place I tell the Wii it fairly is, it fairly is surely greater precise. additionally, on the Wii mote sensitivity settings, set it to 3 whether you spot better than 2 dots. once you're adjusting the settings you're status nonetheless, yet once you're playing a interest you would be shifting the Wii mote around so plenty better than you have been once you have been adjusting the settings, And the sign gets uneven and could minimize out, which will nicely be annoying and deadly in interest.
