I have read all types of articles on all kind of different website and everyone seems to have a different opinion or view so I figuered coming here would be best. I got a Wii for Christmas. I also got an extra controller and nunchuck thing. The controller that I got, as an extra, and the controller that came with the game are the long skinny white ones with motion sensers on the ends of them. Ok. I understand that. But I went online and was researching games trying to figure out which one[s] I wanted to buy. I kept reading that some games needed a different controller. The controller that was needed was a kind of bulky fat one, looking slightly like an xbox controller or kind of like an old N-64 controller. I read that you have to purchase that controller seperately. Can someone please just answer my questions?

1. Do I need to purchase the bulky controller if I but either of these games:

For the Wii games, all you need is only the Wii-mote and the nunchuk.

When you say bulky controller, do you mean this one:

That controller is sort of an extra that you can use when you play Virtual Console games. I don't believe it's mandatory that you get it. When you're on the virtual console, it should have the controller icons on what you need to play that game.

The games that you listed probably only requires the Wii-mote and/or the nunchuck.

To find out what you need to play a game, look on the back of the case, and in the upper right hand corner, you should see the different controller icons. That tells you what you need to use. There's also a number that tells you up to how many players can play that game. If you see a 4, that means up to 4 players can play that game.

I think you are talking about the difference between a classic controller....for Gamecube type games and Virual Console Games....and the skinny remote and nunchuck for Wii games.

the skinny one is a motion sensor remote used for Wii games only....the classic one is just for the older games...
