To know for sure if the sensor bar is working or not, take a digital camera and aim it at the sensor bar with the Wii powered on. Look in the view finder, and you should see red dots coming out of the front of the sensor bar. These are the IR beams the bar is emitting that the remote picks up.

If you do not see the red dots on the sensor bar, then the problem is with the bar and it needs to be replaced.

If you do see the red dots, then the sensor bar is fine, and the problem is something else.

This happened to me ... i remember that day very well back in 2007

Try these soulotions

1.) Make sure the sensor bar is plugged in

2.) Make sure your standing about 3 feet away from the sensor bar

3.) Aim at it correctly

If that doesn't work then maybe the wii remote isn't connected here's how to connect it

1.) Take off the lid for the batteries and you'll see a small red button and on the wii next to the SD card slot you will also find a red button press them both at the same time to connect your wii remote ....

-Hope i helped!!!

EDIT: If nothing happens then go buy a wireless sensor bar (I did that and then it worked)
