Question:
Can you use the Wii U Gamepad as another "independent" controller?

I have noticed that the Wii U Gamepad can be used as a complement for the first wii remote controller, however, I'd like to use it as a separate and independent controller.

This is, if you own two wiimotes, actually you can only have two controllers, and the Gamepad becomes "redundant" for the first controller.

I'd love to use the Gamepad as another separate and independent controller. In the previous situation, if you own two Wiimotes, then it would be awesome to use the Gamepad, apart from the first two controllers, and you will get a third one.

Is this possible with any valid configuration applied to the console?

Thanks,

It is all dependent on the games for what controllers are allowed.

the system is supposed to allow for up to two GamePads to be synced at one time, creating a player 1 and player 2 scenario, but there are no games right now that will take advantage of that.
