Can you use the Gamecube controllers on the "New Super Mario Bros. Wii"?

No, but you don't really need a control stick to play a side-scrolling game... I mean, I prefer to play the original Super Mario Bros. with my Wii remote when I could be using the gamecube controller. A control stick is just unnecessary for 2D. But no, there are no gamecube controllers in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

sadly, no. you can only use the wiiremote alone sideways, or plug in the nunchuk as well. the game does not support the classic controller nor the gamecube controllers because you need motion controls to play the game.
