Hello

We just set up Wii Fit last nite and this morning I went into play it and most of the moves are not recognizing in the basic Wii Step game, I actually did better in the advanced Step game you have to unlock but I have a bad knee so I need to take it easy and need the easier Step game working. There are too many twists and turns and the pace is too fast.

I have tried going faster and slower, pushing harder and not soo hard into the balance board and am unsure what else I could be doing wrong. My score is overall okay but I do get a good amount of perfects and (whatever they call it when you miss them). This is so frustrating when the tutorial pops up saying to watch the Mii's. I tried not putting the carpet things on the bottom (trying to keep the step smaller for my knee) but even tried putting them on and its still not recognizing some of the steps.

Any other ideas?

You may want to get a hard board and put the Wii board on top of it. But I've learned that you have to be very precise to get the "perfect" ratings on the step game. Make sure you are mimicing the other Mii's as much as possible. I got better at it when I watched my own feet while it was going (glancing up at the screen every so often to see the next rep). Sometimes when I step back up on the board I found that my foot falls closer to the middle of the board, especially when doing the side steps... this can mess it up too.

Personally, the step game doesn't give me a great workout anyway. I really huff and puff after the freakin' hula hoop game! And the pushups too. I like the running game too, which is weird because I hate running for real, but I could see that one being harder if you have a bad knee. So all I'm saying is just make sure you try all the exercises! :-)

Best of luck!

I would definetly make sure the wii balance board is in sync with the wii itself first...the leg extenders are for carpet so you don't actually need them unless you have your wii fit on carpet, mine is on tile and it works pretty good...as for the game, it wants you to keep in step with the music, it was hard when I first did it then I realized its more of getting into the rhythm of it instead of mechanical movements, if that doesn't help I would try some of the other activities that they have, that might also be better for ur knee. and if it's not in sync with the other games as well you might want to try and exchange yours for another one. hope that helped!
