how do i unlock new courses in mario kart wii?

it says i have to get at least third place or whatever to unlock something or other..
but i've already done that.. i think.
how do i know if i have?

You have to keep racing and finish overall first-third at the end of a cup. This unlocks the next cup.

Yuo can only unlock I think 8 cups the last cup has Rainbow Road. That is all the levels (tracks) unlocked. But if you do get bored wait for a Mario Kart Competiton and have some fun or tracks made my just for them, sometimes reverse or even baloon battle levels are used. But unfortunately the only levels are the ones unlocked in campaign and the last being the cup with Rainbow Road.

If you've already gotten at least 3rd place in every cup (Mushroom, Flower...etc) You should have all tracks and a lot of vehicles/characters. You will need to get the fastest times in Time Trials as well to unlock everything.



If you're looking for Battle tracks- they're all unlocked from beginning.

2 open new tracks u have 2 earn trophies (win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place) in the grand prix:



1. Star Cup = Earn trophies in the Mushroom and Flower Cups (same for all CCs)



2. Leaf Cup = Earn trophies in the Shell and Banana Cups (same for all CCs)



3. Lightning Cup = Earn a trophy in Leaf Cup (same for all CCs)



4. Special Cup = Earn a trophy in Star Cup (same for all CCs)



5. Mirror Class = Win all 150cc cups



It shows on ur license if u have gotten a trophie in the cups.

You have to get third place or higher in both of the tracks before the locked ones. Once you've done that they should open up.



Use the nunchuck and wii remote - it's easier than the wheel.

to know what place you have come in a course, when you are selecting which track to play, down the bottom it will have a level, and a little trophy if you have gained a place (bronze for 3rd, silver for 2nd, gold for 1st).



and yes to unlock new games you have to get 3rd or better.
